HELLOOOO...

...from Washington DC (well...Chevy Chase to be exact) everyone :)
I have arrived here safely 2 days ago...don´t ask how tho...when the person at the car rental asks you if you want a navigation system make sure to say YES! I said no, because I had printed out some directions (saying: "go left here...turn right there...") and the world-traveled person that I am (I wish HAHA) I thought I could manage...seeing that I´ve lived here (beeing an au pair) for over a year...uhm...6 years ago :P

Sooo...to make a long story short...there was (of course) LOTS of traffic the afternoon I arrived and somehow I managed to take the wrong exit and found myself driving up and down Independence Ave (right in the center of DC...where all the sights are) trying to look as tho I knew where I wanted to go...smelling the BEAUTIFUL cherry blossoms along the way (DC is known for them & I hope they´ll still bloom on Sunday when I make yet another trip to downtown DC for some sightseeing) and enjoying the warm rays of sunshine ;)
So, after beeing stuck in traffic for a while and taking some detours (not actually knowing where I went) I miracle-y managed to find M Street (which was on my directions sheet) and safely after a 2 hour detour made it home right in time for the birthday cake for one of the girls I looked after back then, who had turned 13 (my fave number) that day :)

This is what I got after one night in the US...a parking violation ticket...I parked in front of a fire hydrant...dang...someone must´ve put it there while I was sleeping ;)

One of the Malls I used to go shopping with my Au Pair friends back then...it´s not any longer called "Montgomery Mall" you guys...
Besides a new bag (girls need enough bags right!?) and some shirts (I know I have so many already...but I LOOOOOVE "Heritage 1981" and could´ve bought half the store...) I got a couple of books...I´m such a nerd...who comes to the US to buy BOOKS??? To my defense...I had bought the book "something blue" by Emily Griffin at the airport in Philadelphia and loved it so much that I had to buy 2 more of her books ("something borrowed" and "baby proof"). I even got one of them 50% off ;)

Oooooh I just know I´m going to be in big trouble for this...I HAD TO get this one when I saw the Apple Store next to the Barnes & Noble (my fave bookstore in the US)...

Oh and if you´ve never watched the show "The Office" go do it...I´m addicted now thanks to my two girls here...as if I´d need that ;)
What can I say...Life is good!
