3 Monate... | 3 months...

Tina litt an Borderline Persönlichkeitsstörung.

...since it happened...
since I lost my beloved baby sister...since parts of my heart died with her...
Today is a tough day for me...actually all of last week has been...all of the past 3 months...
I don´t know why this day seems so important to me...it´s not different than each day of the past 3 months has been...beeing in an emotional rollercoaster...it somehow means something to me though and this is why I want to share a music-slideshow to honor Tina and her life here on earth. A life that wasn´t for her, as she´d often mention...
Today marks 3 months since my baby sister Tina took her life at the very young age of 22...

I cried a lot walking down memory lane...one of the longest and toughest walks I had to walk yet (besides Tina´s funeral...). So many memories and little movies in my head from long forgotten times and moments...moments I wished I could live through again...showing her even more how much she was wanted and loved...how much she was an irreplacable part of this family...part of this world...

Tina suffered from Borderline Personality Disorder.
To this day the majority of people still don´t know much about this illness...as sad as it sounds, but doctors figured it out with Tina only 2 years ago, when she was 20...she had started attempting suicide at the young age of 16 already...it took them 4 years...
She has been in numerous psychiatric clinics...always thrown out for her behaviour...for breaking every possible rule...to many suicide attempts...to many cries for help...
What really hurts is the fact, that clinics just don´t seem to be working together over here...Tina was supposed to get into one especially for borderliners at the beginning of the year...soon they said it would be summer...Tina even called them in June and asked for help and to get into the clinic sooner...they just told her that unfortunately they only had a place for her in the middle of October or so...to late... Why didn´t the doctors just search for another place in a different clinic for her??? Why did they rejected her, even tho she was begging for help??? I know she´s often said that this wasn´t her world...but still...I think that maybe we could´ve helped her to get along with herself and her life...had we known more and most of all earlier about the illness...

I know I shouldn´t be bitter...I try not to...we´ve had her for 22 years and therefor I feel blessed and lucky!!!
We´ve shown her how much we´ve loved her...needed her...on every single day.
Life wasn´t easy with Tina most of the time, but honestly...I couldn´t imagine it any other way...I wish it wasn´t different now...............
I still don´t seem to be able to accept her death...it feels as though she might come back...from a trip...from boarding school...from wherever...I wish it would be that way...
One day I will be able to let go of her...to accept her last wish "to be happy...to smile...when I look down at you..."...
One day...not yet...........

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I hope to be able to kind of raise awareness for this illness...to let people know it does have a name...and maybe to keep them from such destiny as Tina´s...
Tina malte immer kleine Botschaften für meine Eltern auf diese kleine Tafel in der Küche...dies war ihre letzte...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tina always drew little messages to my parents on this little chalkboard in the kitchen...this was her last...

LOVE YOU TO THE MOON AND BACK.............forever............

Jess, that was beyond beautiful. I am in tears over a girl I never met, but feel like I know somehow, if even just a little bit. Tina was beautiful. Your family radiates love and warmth. Thank you for sharing this beautiful, moving tribute to your beloved sister.

Was ein wunderschönes Zeichen Deiner Liebe.

Jess, this is beautiful and powerful and heartbreaking. I'm so sorry she is gone. But praying that she is feeling peace and happiness. I feel so lucky to have had a peek into her life, your life together. Those are two of my favorite songs too, and I will never hear them again without thinking of Tina, and your whole family. You guys stay in my thoughts. (((hugs)))

Jess I am so sorry for your loss. I somehow stumbled across your blog looking at photography and watched your slideshow. My heart goes out to you and your family, I cannot imagine what you are going through. I'm Tina's age now and up until I was 17 I suffered heavily from depression, I am grateful I was able to get through it all but I still feel a little guilty somehow whenever I hear about those that could not bear it any more. Mental illness is a subject which needs to be more publicly spoken about. Good luck to your cause, she was beautiful and I'm sure she knew how much she was loved.

wow! I don't know what to feel right now but I hardly could keep my tears back. I was imagining how it would be to lose one of my sisters. That would be the end of me! Wonderful tribute to your sister. I stumbled across your blog thru JC's blog. I am a Berliner that moved to Malta and my name is Jess ;-)
Would love to meet you one day!
Beautiful images!
